Yoga Nidra and Caregivers

CAREGIVERS DESERVE REST.

We often celebrate caregivers for their strength.. now it’s time we also acknowledge their exhaustion.

The parent caring for a child with special needs.

The spouse supporting a loved one through illness.

The son accompanying an ageing parent to every appointment.

The healthcare professional who carries the emotional weight of every shift.

They all have one thing in common.

They spend so much time caring for others that they often forget to care for themselves.

The familiar airline safety instruction tells us to put on our own oxygen mask before helping others…

…not because our life matters more, because we cannot help another if we ourselves are running out of breath.

Yet caregivers quietly do the opposite every single day.

They postpone rest, ignore fatigue, and just carry on.

Not because they are careless because that is what is care according to them, and they tend to believe that their intent to care will take care of them.

Just it feels that it is time we changed the conversation based on intent to reality.

Self-care is not an act of selfishness but an act of responsibility as it allows compassion to remain sustainable.

Through Shrimath Yoga Nidra we are beginning a public seva initiative dedicated to caregivers - creating a space for rest, restoration and community.

If this message resonates with you, or reminds you of someone who quietly carries the responsibility of caring for others, go through our page:

Every caregiver deserves a place to rest.
