Why rest alone is not enough?

A vacation may relax the body temporarily but most of us are experienced enough to know that we get back tired after each vacation š
Because the inner patterns remain unchanged, and the suffering returns.
The same compulsions.
The same inability to say NO.
The same dependence on achievement for self-worth.
The same expectation of external validation.
This is why Yogic traditions emphasised viveka ie informed discernment š§

Shrimath Yoga NidraĀ creates the inner stillness required for self-observation.
And from that observation, discernment emerges and makes transformation possible.
Real recovery is not merely sleep or entertainment but it is the restructuring of consciousness.
When awareness changes,
the way we work changes.
The way we relate changes.
The way we define success changes.
The way we engage (with) ourselves changes tooā¦
Then rest becomes regenerative instead of escapist.
